Nicaragua and Kenya Projects

Teach For Health is proud to announce the start of a new program supporting female Community Health Workers in the communities of Kitenya, Kitawi and Mala Masa in Mfangano Island, Kenya.  TFH personnel Elisabeth Gundersen, Matt Hickey, Caroline Christian and Kris Coontz will be partnering on this project with Richard Magarenge, the Director of Organic Health Response’s Ekialo Kiona community center, and CHWs that have volunteered to provide leadership in developing the program.

Meanwhile, in Nicaragua,we have completed the Continuing Education workshops and Program Planning workshops with our 15 community health promoters working in rural coffee-farming communities.  We are currently in the thick of leading an 8-day workshop for 22 new community health promoters with the assistance of the first generation of health promoters.  More updates to come!
